Thermal sterilization

The process of sterilization in the Enbio sterilizer, similarly to autoclaving (incl. media preparators), is a thermal process as a result of which qualitative changes of the nutrient medium do not differ from traditional sterilization methods. However, the scale of those changes is significantly smaller because of nutrient medium exposure to an increased temperature which is a few times shorter. It significantly reduces the degree of decomposition of components sensitive to heat, including agar whose application may be much lower than it is for traditional recipes (approx. 30% less agar). In view of the above, some recipes should be adjusted to the new sterilization technology, which, however, is not labor-demanding.

It is also important that the equipment has relatively small dimensions and emits little heat, unlike autoclave installations.
